Big Smiley Shirts

Big Smiley shirts are created with the purpose of graphic purity: minimalistic combinations of our company icon.

We use 18 Singles, 6.5oz T-Shirts sewn in Los Angeles by workers earning living wages, made from 100% USA-grown cotton.

Clothes are dyed in mostly monochromatic schemes to act as a gentle backdrop. We laser print the smiley to size, then use a light-table to retrace it in pencil onto heavy-stock paper. The tracing is then cut out & used as the print positive to expose our silkscreen.

Each respective size of the smiley has its own paper cutout—currently ranging 1.5”-13”—with its own slight variations, due to the very intentional introduction of human touch during the paper cutout process.
