DD_simple

DieDye Simple is about basic exploration in dye design. Garments are colored in-studio using both traditional & unconventional techniques: scrunches, folds, twists, ombres, dry on wet speckling, and full immersions (among others). 

Every piece is embellished with a mini, dyed cotton swatch that's sewn to a placement unique to its batch. This 1" square patch—printed with an even tinier smiley icon—creates a soft point of contrast, while leaving overall focus on the textile dye pattern.

The main goal of this series is to design-by-doing, balancing improvisation & intention. We roughly plan the palettes & patterns for each product, but allow the winds of change to redirect us whether by chance or choice.
